Intervention overview

The case for this work

01

Context

Communities often raise the same service and development concerns in separate meetings without a shared evidence record or a consistent way to follow what institutions agreed to do. Young people may participate in one-off forums but lack the tools and standing to sustain accountable dialogue.

02

Our response

AYCP would select and prepare youth fellows to facilitate community evidence gathering, develop simple scorecards, convene inclusive dialogues, document commitments, and publish accessible follow-up briefs. The intervention would remain non-partisan and focus on agreed local service and development issues.

Beneficiaries

Who the intervention serves

Young community facilitators, local youth groups, residents, and relevant duty-bearers

Objectives

  1. 01

Build a cohort of capable and trusted youth accountability facilitators.

  2. 02

Create credible community evidence and structured dialogue around selected priorities.

  3. 03

Improve transparent tracking of commitments made by relevant institutions.

Measurement

Proposed results framework

Result Indicator Baseline Target Verification

Inclusion and safeguarding

Participation by design

  • Fellow selection would balance gender, disability inclusion, geography, and participation by young people outside established leadership structures.
  • Dialogues would use accessible venues, plain-language materials, safeguarding procedures, and confidential feedback channels.

Risk management

Risks addressed in delivery

Dialogue becomes adversarial or politically captured
Agree issue-selection and facilitation rules, publish the non-partisan standard, and use neutral evidence review.
Institutions attend but do not provide follow-up information
Record specific commitments, named offices, and review dates, then publish factual follow-up briefs.

Sustainability

What continues beyond delivery

  • Fellows retain reusable facilitation, scorecard, and commitment-tracking tools.
  • AYCP would seek agreements with community groups and institutions to continue selected dialogue cycles after donor support.
