Safeguarding and Complaints
AYCP takes the safety and wellbeing of the young people, communities, and partners it works with seriously, and welcomes complaints or concerns raised in good faith.
Reporting channels
For a safeguarding concern involving a child, young person, or adult at risk, email safeguarding@aycp.net. For a complaint or general feedback about AYCP's conduct, programmes, or staff, email complaints@aycp.net. Both addresses are checked by AYCP's Secretariat and are separate from the general enquiries address.
Confidentiality
Reports are handled in confidence and shared only with the people who need to know in order to respond. AYCP may need to escalate a report, including to statutory authorities, where there is a risk of serious harm to a child or adult at risk; confidentiality cannot be absolute in those circumstances.
Non-retaliation
AYCP will not retaliate against, or allow retaliation against, anyone who raises a safeguarding concern or complaint in good faith, even if the concern turns out to be unfounded.
Emergency situations
These reporting channels are not an emergency service and are not monitored continuously. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services directly before contacting AYCP.
Policies
AYCP's formal safeguarding and complaints policy documents are not yet published on this website. Check the compliance section of the resource library for updates.
Alternative contact route
If you would rather not use email, you can write to AYCP at P.O. Box 881, Busia, 50400, Kenya, marked for the attention of the Executive Director.
